The Ecotoxicology Laboratory (LET) studies the toxic effects of different pollutants on living organisms such as microcrustaceans, algae, plants, among others by determining the mean lethal concentration (LC50) and the mean effective concentration (EC50) as well as the analysis of physiological and biochemical biomarkers.
The following studies are carried out in this laboratory:
- Xenobiotic toxicity studies.
- Determination of LC50/LD50 in crustaceans and algae.
- Seed germination and root elongation toxicity tests.
